⚠️ The captured video is jerky or has dropped frames.
Make sure your recording folder is located on a fast SSD and not on a traditional hard drive. If the problem persists, slightly reduce the bitrate in AKR Rewind's video settings or lower the frame rate to 60 FPS.
⚠️ The colors in the video are dull or washed out.
This issue usually occurs when you're playing on an HDR display but the HDR/Dolby Vision capture option isn't enabled in the software. Go to the video settings in AKR Rewind and check the box for native HDR support to restore the original color palette.
⚠️ The buttons on the controller do not trigger the shortcuts.
Make sure your controller is using an XInput-compatible driver on Windows. Unplug and then plug your controller back in, and then reassign the desired key in the AKR Rewind shortcut settings panel.
⚠️ Uploading files to the cloud consistently fails.
Check your internet connection and make sure you haven't exceeded your storage limit (2 GB for the free version, 50 GB for Premium). If your storage space is full, delete old remote clips from the software's library.
⚠️ The built-in video editor is unable to export the clip.
Check the amount of free space remaining on the hard drive containing your temporary folder. Also make sure that the original video is not currently being used by another media player in Windows at the time of rendering.
⚠️ There is no sound on the recorded video clip.
Go to the AKR Rewind audio settings and make sure your default output device is selected. Also, be sure to check that the audio capture volume level isn't set to the minimum.
⚠️ The game closes or crashes as soon as recording starts.
This issue sometimes occurs with certain in-game overlays. Disable any other active overlays on your Windows system to allow AKR Rewind to capture the video stream without interference.
⚠️ I can't record the video in 4K resolution.
Make sure that the native resolution of your game or monitor supports 4K. The app cannot record at a resolution higher than the one displayed by your Windows operating system.
