Usage Guide

Getting Started with Profile Manager

The Profile Manager is the heart of AKR SecureShell, allowing you to save and organize your SSH login details. To create a new profile, click the 'Add Profile' button and fill in the required fields: hostname (or IP address), username, port (default is 22), and authentication method. You can choose between password-based or key-based authentication. Once saved, the profile will appear in the dropdown menu for quick access.

Connecting to a Server with Quick Login

AKR SecureShell's Quick Login feature lets you connect to a server with a single click. After saving your profile, simply select it from the dropdown menu and click the 'Connect' button. The software will establish an SSH connection to the server using the saved credentials. If you're using key-based authentication, ensure your private key is properly configured in the profile settings.

Using Keyboard Shortcuts for Efficiency

AKR SecureShell supports all standard Windows terminal keyboard shortcuts, making it easy to navigate and execute commands. For example, use Ctrl+C to copy text, Ctrl+V to paste, and Ctrl+Tab to switch between open sessions. The software also supports arrow keys for command history navigation and Tab for auto-completion. Familiarizing yourself with these shortcuts will significantly speed up your workflow.

Managing Multiple Sessions

AKR SecureShell allows you to open multiple SSH sessions in separate tabs, making it easy to manage several servers simultaneously. To open a new tab, click the 'New Tab' button or use the Ctrl+T shortcut. Each tab operates independently, so you can run different commands on each server without interference. To close a tab, click the 'X' button or use Ctrl+W.

Customizing the Console Appearance

While AKR SecureShell does not offer extensive customization options, you can adjust the font size and color scheme to suit your preferences. Open the 'Settings' menu and navigate to the 'Appearance' tab. Here, you can choose from a selection of fonts and adjust the background and text colors. These changes apply globally and will be saved for future sessions.
